BMG LABTECH now introduces the new microplate luminometer LUMIstar OPTIMA completing the highly successful OPTIMA reader family. The LUMIstar OPTIMA is the first luminometer, which can be fully upgraded to a high performance multifunctional microplate reader supporting all leading reading modes (fluorescence, UV/Vis absorbance, fluorescence polarization, time-resolved fluorescence, simultaneous dual emission fluorescence). You have the possibility to read luminescence colour discrimination assays such as BRET. Additionally, the LUMIstar OPTIMA can be equipped with two PMTs allowing it to read two reporter wavelengths at the same time.

BMG LABTECH announces a further improvement of its new multimode microplate reader PHERAstar, which is designed to perform HTS assays in plate formats up to 1536 in all leading non-radioactive detection modes: fluorescence intensity (including FRET), time-resolved fluorescence (including HTRF®), high-end fluorescence polarization, luminescence, AlphaScreen™ and Absorbance. The PHERAstar utilizes a unique application specific optic module design combined with a lens based dual channel photomultiplier system for simultaneous dual emission at any desired wavelength to provide outstanding sensitivity and accuracy in fluorescent and luminescence assays. The simultaneous measurement minimizes the read-time for new sophisticated applications like HTRF® and FRET assays and those using ratiometric fluorophores. To increase throughput and sensitivity in AlphaScreen™ mode the PHERAstar can now be equipped with an additional red laser diode resulting in much faster plate read time.
