Mastercycler ep realplex

Small, fast and flexible - the Mastercycler ep realplex real-time PCR system meets all the latest requirements of quantitative PCR applications. Extremely fast temperature ramping, short detection times and intuitive assay programming translate to huge time-savings so that more experiments can completed per day - always with accurate and reliable results. It’s flexibility is beyond compare - this completely open system allows you to use tubes, plates and reagents of your choice. No other real-time cycler on the market today offers such freedom!

The Mastercycler ep realplex is compact in size, so it can fit in virtually any lab, no matter how limited the benchspace is. It is modular and therefore makes upgrading easy, for example: realplex allows you to upgrade your Mastercycler ep gradient S to a real-time PCR cycler at any time; the realplex2 module can be easily replaced by the realplex4 module if/when multiplexing becomes essential. Innovative Eppendorf Thermal Sample Protection technology prevents premature heating of the samples, which significantly reduces the amplification of non-specific PCR products during this heating phase. And a solid construction with minimal moving parts makes this a quiet, dependable unit that promotes consistently high sensitivity in your real-time PCR experiments.

realplex thermoblocks

A 96-well aluminium and 96-well silver thermoblock are available for use with Mastercycler ep realplex. Both blocks feature Eppendorf SteadySlope® gradient technology for assay optimisation. If you require even faster heating and cooling rates, choose the silver block, whose performance is enhanced by our highly regarded Impulse PCR technology. Both blocks can be combined with the realplex2 or realplex4 optical modules, which permit the use of nearly all fluorescent dyes used in real-time PCR: the realplex2 module has two fluorescence filters and one photomultiplier tube (PMT), while the realplex4 module incorporates four filters and two PMTs for four-fold multiplexing assays.

96-well excitation

The fluorescent dyes chosen for each experiment are excited by 96 individual LEDs, which have a substantially longer lifespan than halogen lamps: a blue light emission of ~470 nm excites nearly all applicable fluorophores, including SYBR® Green, FAM, VIC, TET, HEX, ROX, JOE and TAMRA; the emitted fluorescence is focused through an array of lenses and passed to the optical detection unit through 96 individual optical fi bers; a new type of channel photo-multipliers serve as the detectors—which, in contrast to conventional photo-multiplier tubes, are far less sensitive to magnetic field interference.

Results in real-time

The realplex software offers six different evaluation modules for maximum flexibility when processing results. An intuitive user interface ensures quick and easy PCR and assay set-up as well as simple transfer of previously established PCR protocols. Smart programming automatically compensates for possible dye interference when, for example, performing multiplex assays. Results are easily exported to Microsoft® Excel for GLP compliance.
