More efficient, safer, more reliable and more versatile than conventional tugs

For more than half of a century, Lektro has been pioneering innovative battery driven vehicles. In 1967, the company built the world's first towbarless ground support vehicle and today is changing the way ground crews all over the world handle aircraft.

The Lektro line has proven to be more efficient, safer, more reliable and more versatile than conventional tugs. They have replaced the antiquated towbar with a universal cradle that quickly and easily adapts to nearly every airplane on the market. Lektro's soft capture, utilizing a nylon strap, translates into quicker hookups and less potential aircraft damage.

The tugs use the weight of the aircraft to safely stabilize, tow and stop the aircraft. The result is a better distribution of weight and less rolling resistance, requiring less effort to move the plane. With the aircraft's nose cradled at the front of the tug, Lektro's one pivot point reduces turn limit damage, virtually eliminates jackknifing which gives the vehicle its renowned maneuverability and operators greater control and confidence in confined areas, maximizing your hangar's capacity and increasing your return on investment.

Lektro utilizes a powerful, quiet and clean-burning, electric motor that's designed to accelerate smoothly, avoiding the jarring effects and jerking damage common to conventional tugs. Plus, one overnight charge is sufficient to power the tug through two very busy shifts.

The company recently began manufacturing an extended version of its popular AP87 series to better handle Falcons, G-200 and Jetstar aircraft. The 190.5 inch-long, low-profile units have capacities up to 80,000 pounds
