Fast Microscope Movies

The AxioCam HS digital microscope camera from Carl Zeiss, together with the new 4.4 release of the "AxioVision" microscopy software, records image sequences at a speed of more than 50 images per second in the basic resolution mode (660 x 494 pixels) and up to 140 images per second in the 5 x 5 binning mode. The image sequences are recorded to the computer via the FireWire without compression loss in full 12-bit quality.

Features
  • Basic CCD resolution 660 (H) x 494 (V)
  • Progressive sensor reading
  • Reading speed 24.57 MHz
  • Speed-optimised reading modes
  • Dynamic range typ. 65 dB = 1:1800
  • 12-bit AD conversion
  • Exposure time from 0.25 ms to 60 s
  • FireWire interface (IEEE 1394 a)

Fast Recording of Image Sequences with Living Objects

The AxioCam HS enables highly precise, high time resolution recognition and examination of fast processes in living objects in neurobiology, developmental biology, virology and zoology. For example, this includes the analysis of transport processes in cells at the molecular level and the analysis of motion processes of micro-organisms such as sperm and cilia. The camera for Live Cell Imaging is available in two versions: for colour and monochrome exposures. It replaces video recorder based video camera technology at a significantly higher level. The options of using the AxioVert 200 microscope, e.g. for "live cell imaging", are consequently expanded.
