Easier Optimization of ECU-Specific Parameters

In its new version 5.6 of the measurement, calibration and diagnostic tool CANape Graph, Vector has simplified optimal calibration of ECUs in vehicles. Among other things, developers will profit from the support of additional interfaces and protocols, as well as from improvements in diagnostic functionality.

CANape Graph 5.6 now also logs FlexRay bus messages in addition to CAN and LIN messages. Furthermore, the integrated XCP-on-FlexRay concept lets the user acquire ECU-internal measurement data and calibrate parameters. Therefore the effects of parameter calibration are traceable within the FlexRay ECU and are time-synchronous to all other data.

Instead of being routed through a CAN gateway, XCP-on-LIN permits direct access to the measurement and calibration data of LIN slaves. Moreover, CANape Graph supports the Cooling bus in the climate control field and the SAE J1939 protocol used in commercial vehicles.

If no ECU-specific diagnostic description file exists, the generic files supplied for UDS and KWP2000 can be used to enable symbolic access to diagnostic functions and raw diagnostic data. The user can set up entire flash procedures individually based on information from the diagnostic description file in CDD format. This involves reading data and parameters from ODX-F files.

Development engineers for driver assistance systems can check their ECU’s object recognition algorithms using the separate “Advanced Multimedia” option. This is done by simply visually matching the objects acquired by the ECU such as vehicles, roadway markings or traffic signs with the real environment recorded on video.
