Siqura C-23: 3-channel MPEG-2 encoder

Optelecom-NKF will introduce its new 3-channel MPEG-2 video encoder, the Siqura C-23. This product complements Optelecom-NKF's IP network solutions for surveillance and monitoring.

With 3 independent MPEG-2 encoders onboard, the Siqura C-23 offers a compact solution for high density video applications. For example, up to 33 camera signals can be served in a mounting chassis using just 3U of 19-inch rack space.

In addition to the three video channels, the Siqura C-23 features a two-way RS422/485 serial data channel for PTZ or other data need and 3 contact closure inputs for alarm/telemetry connections. Each MPEG-2 encoder is able to simultaneously stream two separate copies of the video at different frame rates. For example, one stream can transmit a few pictures per seconds for recording and the other can transmit at 25/30 fps for live viewing. The Siqura C-23 offers all interfaces needed for connecting a cluster of (PTZ) cameras to Optelecom-NKF's IP-based CCTV network. "The Siqura C-23 offers our customer a very competitive price per channel for high density video applications and DVD-quality video transport," says Peter de Konink, Product Manager of Optelecom-NKF.

The Web-based interface of the Siqura C-23 offers intuitive access for configuration and control. The product is compatible with Optelecom-NKF's software suite (e.g. MX Viewer) and networked video recorder (i-NVR). In addition, the Siqura C-23 supports SNMPv2, enabling network management with standardized, off-the-shelf available SNMP network managers.
