This new monoclonal antibody will effectively detect rabbit primary antibodies without binding to the heavy chain band (50 kD) of rabbit IgG on Western blots of proteins immunoprecipitated (IP) with rabbit antisera. Therefore, detection of proteins with molecular weights near 50 kD is not obscured by large amounts of IP rabbit IgG on the blots. The antibody is not captured by denatured Protein A on blots, nor does it bind to bovine, goat, Armenian hamster, horse, human, mouse, rat, or sheep immunoglobulins, which may be present on blots.
