Ultra-small with ultrasound: zws, a powerhouse in mini format

They have a size of only 20 x 32 x 12 mm: The small zws ultrasonic sensors in a cubical housing – now new with analogue output and new detection ranges 20mm to 1,000 mm.

Tiny 20 x 32 x 12 mm outside dimensions, a housing identical with those of many optical sensors, an extremely slim beam spread and a resolution down 0.20 mm.
The operation of the zws is as easy as it is reliable: a teach-in button on the top of the sensor enables the user to set the required detect distance. Press the same button for 10 seconds to switch the sensor between NC and NO contacts. The control input allows any number of sensors to be synchronised with each other so that simultaneous operation of several transducers in a confined space is possible.

The zws at a glance:
  • Smallest ultrasonic sensor in cubical housing
  • Housing design identical with that of many optical sensors
  • 3 function within 1 device (reflective sensor, reflective barrier, programmable window mode)
  • Analogue output with temperature compensation for accurate distance measurements
  • Extremely narrow beam spread for a high spatial resolution
  • pnp or npn switched output or 4-20 mA current or 0-10 V voltage output
  • NCC/NOC function for free selection
  • M8x1 plug connector for rapid mounting
  • Synchronisation for the simultaneous operation of several sensors
All types are available in three operating ranges 20 mm to 250 mm, 50 mm to 350 mm and 120 mm to 700 mm.
