IT 5620 – the mobile Bluetooth radio scanner with batch function
The IT 5620 sets new standards in mobile hand-held scanning with its combination of bar-code reading, Bluetooth data transmission, and batch function. The device, developed for data detection in commissioning and production processes, also offers enormous ease-of-use as a result of its Presentation Mode, its long-range radio module, and the reading power of the linear iCCD-mage capture module, among other features.
The IT 5620 is, moreover, extremely robust. Thus the device survives, for example, being dropped 50 times from a height of almost 2 m onto a concrete floor, and vibrations of 5 G at differing frequencies.
Bar code
The IT 5620 is used in industry and logistics wherever bar codes require mobile detection. The imaging module allows reading distances of more than 1 m and also provides good reading results even with poor-quality bar codesbietet.mit 56 cm einen großen Tiefenschärfebereich. Programmable scanning speeds of up to 270 scans per seconds also ensure that reading takes place about three times faster than with conventional laser scanners.
Bluetooth
The device is equipped with the latest Version 1.2 Bluetooth data radio module for transmitting the identified bar-code data. Its integrated frequency-hopping process guarantees secure data transmission. This can either take place to a Bluetooth-enabled host or to the basis station that will, in future, communicate with up to seven IT 5620 units. If, despite its radio range of approximately ten metres, the IT 5620 is outside the reception area of the host or basis station, the device automatically switches to batch function. In this operation mode, announced to the user by an acoustic signal, it can autonomously store up to 500 12-digit data sets, e.g. commissioning steps. Handling of the IT 5620 is characterised by a high ergonomic level. Thus, for example, the device automatically switches to Presentation Mode when a bar code is detected in the read window. Furthermore, the basis station of the hand scanner simultaneously serves as a retaining mounting for temporary stationary use. The contacts point upwards to prevent damage; LEDs show the current loading state and read results. A Li-ion rechargeable battery allows up to 20,000 scans and suffers no "memory effect" if the device is recharged without having been completely drained.
