Simple PCI Core Application
At the core of Simple PCI are the Image Documents and Data Documents, allowing sophisticated image enhancements, presentation and analysis operations to be easily applied to single images or image sequences.

Automated Image Capture AIC + Experiment Planner EP
Adding AIC or the Experiment Planner to Simple PCI provides the ability to automatically capture colour and monochrome images using microscopes with motorized filter and shutter controls. The scan wizard in AIC makes it easy to automatically collect image sequences of XY and Z and wavelength positions over time (time-lapse), which may then be easily accessed from a data file or disk.

Image Processing and Analysis IPA
Simple PCI Image Processing and Analysis encourages the development of icon driven work-files (macros) for multiple application solutions. Innovative interactions between image objects, graphs and tables provide instant user feedback. The user can select and customize over 150 measurements to quantify count, size, shape, position, intensity and colour of objects in an image.

Motion Tracking and Analysis MTA
Motion Tracking and Analysis expands Simple PCI to enable objects to be tracked across multiple time separated fields. Fields are first collected and analysed for size, position and time. The MTA module then rapidly tracks objects and reports distance moved with straight and curve line velocity.

Dynamic Intensity Analysis DIA
Simple PCI Dynamic Intensity Analysis provides the ultimate in high speed processing. Adding DIA to Simple PCI makes it possible to measure the intensity of cells over time and then to view the results on a time graph. With DIA, full measuring capability is available for both on-line and off-line analysis. Interactive user control throughout an experiment makes DIA the ideal module for live cell application solutions.

Deconvolution DNN
Simple PCI DNN module supplements Simple PCI to remove out-of-focus haze from optical image sections. The out-of-focus haze is mathematically modelled as a point-spread function (PSF). The DNN module supports nearest neighbour no neighbour and 2D blind deconvolution, for rapid deconvolution of images and image sequences.

Visualization Multi-Dimensional VIZ
The VIZ module provides a new mechanism to view and interact with a multi-image dataset. A typical image data set would be a series of optical sections through a specimen. VIZ can reconstruct and render the data for interactive 3D viewing, as an intuitive extension of the data.

Quantitative Fluorescence Applications QFA
Efficiency of energy transfer between fluorophores can be measured with QFA. It is a new module incorporating selection and customizing of algorithms based on published methods for accurate crosstalk correction, FRET measurement and visualization.
