GroundStar IT Optimises Your Airport Operation

GroundStar, a software system developed by INFORM, is an integrated system for the intelligent support of ground handling resources and airport processes.

Five basic modules support the various processes for ground handling operations: a planning module is designed to determine staff and equipment demand in the long, medium and short term and generate optimum shift plans. Various methodologies of staff rostering and staff management functions are available in a rostering module. The day of operation is managed by a module, which allocates staff and equipment to ground handling tasks in a real-time environment.

Processes related to the contracting, administration and invoicing of ground handling services are handled in the customer relations module. The diverse information requirements of the multiple organisations involved in the ground handling process are satisfied with GroundStar's AODB. It is a powerful integration platform for the airport. Via standard interfaces all kinds of systems, modern as well as legacy systems, can be connected to send and receive data.

In addition to the basic modules application packages are available, each one focussed on the specific requirements of the different handling areas. Today more than 40 customers at over 90 airports worldwide rely on GroundStar for efficient airport operations. Amongst them are airlines such as Air Canada, British Airways and Lufthansa; airports such as Dubai, Frankfurt and Stuttgart; and handling agents such as GateGourmet and Servisair GlobeGround.
