Optical Distance and Thickness Measurements

Topographic evaluations and thickness measurements are now done up to 10 times faster due to the new 4 kHz technology of the optical sensors. Specific advantages are featured for high precision distance measurement, for quality control and inline monitoring, for determination of glass thickness or for non-contact thickness measurements. The large variety of optical probes has opened the market for numerous applications. With one single control unit, micro structures of a few µm are measured as well as surface topographies up to 25 mm. The Chrocodile sensor from Precitec Optronik is used mainly for production and process monitoring, for quality control and in R & D.
