For more than 30 years now, BMW has been offering Security vehicles to protect both the occupants and the vehicle from criminal attacks. In the past, armoured vehicles were rather reserved for customers of large saloons. Nevertheless, criminality has changed in form and spread and has created new customer requirements. This is why BMW has extended its portfolio to include the BMW 330i Security and BMW X5 Security, which can resist an attack from handguns of up to calibre .44 Magnum in accordance with the requirements of the ballistic protection level B4. Both vehicles practically round off the product range of mobile BMW security solutions, which include the BMW 760Li High Security and the BMW 745Li High Security. All BMW Security and High Security vehicles have been developed in accordance with international guidelines and tested by independent and official testing institutes, e.g. by the German Ballistic Authority.
