Flexible Multi-channel fibre optics amplifier

Modern mechanical engineering is demanding increasingly complex and flexible sensor technology. Eltrotec is therefore launching a new 2 to 4 channel fibre optic amplifier AFP 234. This multi-channel fibre optics amplifier is available as a 2-, 3- or 4-channel device, each of which can be supplied with an additional 4-20 mA analogue output. The advantage of the AFP 234 is that logical functions enable all channels to be linked together. If one channel is used as an actuator, other complex applications with up to 3 enquiry positions can be triggered simultaneously. The distance, shape or presence of various components can be detected. Distinction can also be drawn between colours and various shades of grey due to their different intensities. Because of the high resolution (1,000 and/or 2,000 points), it is possible to detect differences as small as 0.01 mm. The sensor can easily be set using an adjusting wheel and a multi-function display. If the sensor has multiple applications on one machine, all settings can be stored and changed using a replaceable E2PROM.
