Graphics-capable Ex-area operating panel for an extended temperature range

The SAE-STAHL Exicom ET-125 is an Ex-protected operating panel, suitable for use at temperatures from -20°C ... +70°C. Its LC screen displays bitmap graphics or up to eleven lines of text, and allows for a wide viewing angle. Convenient readability from a distance is maintained through tall characters (30 mm max.) and a switchable backlight. Alongside its alphanumeric pad, the panel is equipped with eight softkeys and 16 function keys, 12 with complemental LEDs. Up to 25 dynamic elements display per screen, including floating point values (notably, for loop control images). The ET-125 is supplied with a built-in real time clock, a histogram memory (1000 entries max.), and an integrated alarm management function capable of handling up to 512 incidents. Permitting project planning with up to 6000 texts in three languages, the device is the most powerful model of the latest Exicom series revision. It is ATEX 100a compliant and Ex-protected for II 2G/D EEx ia T4 (Zone 1, Zone 21 pending) and FM Class 1 Div 1. Representative of SAE-STAHL's new series of both industrial and Ex-area operating devices, the panel is built on a common hardware and software base, unified throughout each product range to facilitate consistent programming and parametrisation for all text and graphics-capable devices. Moreover, the ET-125 is functionally compatible to the previous model ET-6. Upon replacing its predecessor, the new panel can instantly operate with the project development data of the older device.
