Explosion-protected optical beacon

The new explosion-protected optical beacons of series 6161 from R. STAHL can be used as signal lights or warning lights in hazardous areas of Zone 1 and 2 and in dust-endangered areas of Zone 21 and 22.

The elegantly designed enclosure consists of saltwater corrosion-resistant aluminium alloy with high-quality yellow/black powder coating. The transparent beacon glass is made of impact-resistant polycarbonate and is available either clear or in four different colours: signal yellow, red, blue or green. The device is optimally sealed from the environment and complies with type of protection IP 66 according to EN 60529. The connection enclosure allows easy connection of the connection cable which may enter optionally from the side or from below.

The various mounting options, a mounting plate, a pipe clamp and a special-purpose wall mounting bracket offer many advantages. In addition, it is also possible to fit an optional wire guard over the polycarbonate beacon glass. All accessory parts are made of stainless steel and thus offer optimum protection during day-to-day use and a long service life.

The beacon discharge energy of 5 joules and flash frequency of 1 Hz meet the conventional requirements made of optical beacons, and the duty cycle is designed for 100 %.

Series 6161 is available in four voltage ranges:
12...48 V AC/DC, 60/80 V DC, 110...127 V AC and 230 V AC.

The series of optical beacons is constructed in accordance with the most recent European standards and certified according to the new "ATEX" Directive.
The explosion protection code is II 2 G EEx de IIC T5 for gases and
II 2 D T85°C for the dust-endangered area.
