Oryx Camera

New Possibilities with 10 GigE

The Oryx, the first 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GigE) camera from FLIR (formerly Point Grey) offers a new standard in single-link interface speed. 10 GigE enables users to take full advantage of the latest generation of high-performance sensors with their higher resolution, frame rates, bit depth, and dynamic range.

The 10 Gbit/s transfer speed isn’t the only thing about Oryx that is fast. With no frame grabbers or link aggregation to configure, set-up is straightforward. CAT6A cabling allows for 10 GigE speeds at cable lengths up to 100m without repeaters, hubs or optical fiber extensions. 10 Gigabit Ethernet has been used for many years in network infrastructure. It has a very large install base and a mature hardware ecosystem.
