Nanosonics: Trophon EPR - Automated Disinfection System

The trophon® EPR is an automated, validated High-Level Disinfection system for ultrasound probes that's fast, easy to use, environmentally friendly and quality assured.

Within a 7min cycle trophon EPR produces a H₂O₂-based mist which offers bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal disinfection. Automated documentation is achieved via IT-Interface.

Environmentally friendly by-products are H₂O₂ and O₂. Material compatibility has been confirmed by most ultrasound probe manufacturers. Current status quo in Germany is the manual disinfection with wipes or disinfection by immersion. Most wipes offer only limited virucidal efficacy or bear the risk of non-compliance with obligatory contact times. Generally, manual procedures are difficult to validate. Recent studies have shown a potential risk of cross contamination through transvaginal ultrasound probes.
