Industrial ATX mainboard with the Intel C602 chipset and two Intel Xeon E5-2418L processors / Robust industrial server with dual Intel Xeon E5

An industrial ATX mainboard with the Intel C602 chipset and two Intel Xeon E5-2418L processors (2.0 GHz, 10 MB cache, four cores) has been integrated in the extremely powerful 4-U 19-inch industrial server Infinity S4 from DSM Computer. There are six DIMM slots available on the board for up to 96 GB per CPU. DDR3 memory modules with a capacity of 16 GB are equipped as standard. The main memory can be expanded up to 192 GB. For high-demanding applications, a server based on two Intel Xeon E5-2448L processors (1.8 GHz, 20 MB cache, eight cores) can be supplied. Processors from the Intel Embedded Roadmap with an availability of seven years ensure long-term supply of the server.

The S4 industrial server designed for use in harsh environments can be supplied in a solid, high-quality rack for installation in 19-inch cabinets or as a stand-alone unit. All operator control elements such as the power switch, reset, control LEDs, 2 x USB and the drives, are on the front, protected by metal doors. The dust protection mat can be changed from the front. A customer-specific company logo can be inscribed on the rugged housing. 19-inch angles and handles are available on request in any color. A redundant 2 x 500 W power supply (100 – 240 VAC) is part of the scope of delivery or optionally a 600 W power supply (115 – 230 VAC), or on request, a DC power supply (12 V / 24 V / 48 V) are offered.

As standard, the Infinity S4 is equipped with four 500 GB large 2.5 inch SATA II 300 quality hard disks (or larger) in the RAID system which are mounted in 5.25 inch removable racks for 4 x 2.5 inch HDDs. The industrial computer has two 5.25 inch plug-in units and one internal 2.5 inch plug-in unit. Optionally, a 5.25 inch DVD-RW quality drive or a 2.5 inch SSD (Solid State Drive) quality drive can be installed.

A total of six slots are available for system extensions. CPU 1 has one PCI Express 3.0 x16 and one PCI Express 3.0 x4 slot. CPU 2 has three PCI Express 3.0 x8 slots, one of which is occupied by the RAID controller. In addition, one PCI slot (32-bit, 33 MHz, 5 V) is intended for the Matrox G450 DualHead graphics card. The interfaces include two USB 3.0 ports, eight USB 2.0, audio, 2 x LAN, 2 x COM and 1 x PS/2.

The operating temperature range of the powerful industrial server is between 0 and 45° C; up to 50° C is possible depending on the configuration. Two 92 mm fans are mounted on the front and one 60 mm fan mounted on the rear to dissipate the heat.

The main applications of the Infinity S4 server system are the image and real-time analysis as well as evaluation of measurement data. The system can also be used in applications that require more than 24 PCI Express lanes.
