20MHz 12 bit, 2.5 MHz 16 bit multifunctional measurement system - Transient Recorder

LTT-184 and -186 are a mobile Transient Recorder for data acquisition and controlling. 16 bit resolution (up to 2.5MHz). Sampling rates from 1kHz to 20MHz per channel. Overall sampling rate up to 100MSample. 8 or 16 differential analogue inputs. Optional several units in cascade.

The LTT184 is suited for mobile and stationary applications that require acquisition of many channels with high bandwidth. With sampling frequencies from 1kHz to 20MHz per channel, the LTT184 Recorder covers a wide spectrum of applications. 16 bit resolution is provided with bandwidths from DC to 1MHz that is a sampling rate of 2.5MSample/s per channel.

The LTT184 system has 8 or 16 differential analogue input channels with individually adjustable input ranges. A separate clock input allows to measure time synchronously with external events. In addition to time synchronous recording there is also the possibility for angle-synchronous sampling on rotating machinery.

For data transfer to a PC or notebook, the LTT system is equipped with a high-speed digital interface. The PC communicates with the LTT system via USB adaptor or Ethernet. The patented interface concept of the LTT systems ensures compatibility with all computer types without installing device drivers.

The measured data are saved in real-time in the extremely fast 128 MB buffer of the system, ensuring that no data is lost, even if the connection to the PC is interrupted. The optional RAM extension to 512MB allows longer recording times for highly transient events with an overall sampling rate of 100MSample/s.

The housing made of a special aluminium alloy is very hard and sturdy and allows trouble-free use of the LTT-184 under tough conditions.

The graphical user interface LTTview is user friendly and easy to use. The operating systems WinXP, WinVista and Win7 are supported. LTTview is a very powerful software and provides a wealth of functions for the system configuration. Due to its clear GUI the software is nevertheless very easy to use. All parameters have defaults which makes getting started even easier. Integrated on-line maths operations allow a first evaluation of the measurement while it is still running. The measured data are saved together with the maths channels in popular file formats such as DIADEM, FAMOS, National Instruments TDM and µGraph. Thus, no time is wasted on export and import.

An included DLL allows the LTT184 to be integrated in test bench applications. The increasingly demanded integration with LINUX systems is also possible. The optional DASYLAB driver facilitates the development of complex test bench programs.

Cascading several LTT-184 units allows parallel measurements with nearly unlimited channel counts. Via a link the digital inputs of the units are synchronised while one unit is defined as master and the others as slaves.

When LTT184 systems are combined with the General-Purpose Measuring Amplifier LTT500 you get a measurement system with signal conditioning for strain gauge, ICP, current, resistance and charge with a bandwidth from DC to 1MHz. This facilitates the data acquisition for highly dynamic investigations of materials.
Optional Labview or DASYLab drivers enable fast and comfortable integration of the LTT instruments into complex test bench programs. Graphical programming with function blocks enables users to quickly create test sequences.

LTT184 is also available in a PC independent stand-alone version with integrated hard disk – the LTT186. Just turn on and start working: As a stand-alone device or connected to a notebook the LTT-186 is a multifunctional measurement system and the ideal companion for mobile measuring tasks.
