Particle Counter by RR-Elektronik has 100 Litres per Minute Throughput

They are user friendly and versatile, they can be used in many different fields, they are easy to transport and their throughput is enormous: these are the main features which make RR-Elektronik’s PZG Series so attrac-tive. The compact particle counters in their elegant stainless steel casing with the large touch screen colour display are much in demand by ex-perts in the areas of filter tests, the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries, by pharmacists and hospital surgical rooms. With a flow rate of 100 l/min, the 100-l devices can measure particles as small as 0.3 µm. (For particles as small as 0.2 µm 28 I/min respectively) The PZG Series covers channel sizes from 0.2 µm to 10.0 µm and can signal up to eight different particle sizes at the same time.

Managing Director Rolf Röschmann says: “We have definitely scored a bullseye with the PZG because, right from the start, we based the con-cept for this series on our customers’ wishes for more operator friendli-ness and more efficiency. The 100 litre version can measure one cubic metre of air in 10 minutes. This represents savings of up to 70 % in terms of time and labour costs!”

No only can these devices be connected up to four different sensors for temperature, relative humidity, air velocity and pressure differential; they can also set a profile for each space to be measured and for each indi-vidual measurement. “This greatly simplifies the procedure for providers of special services, as they can retrieve up 1,000 of these profiles, as needed,” Röschmann explains.

Dialogues in several different languages make configuration and opera-tion via the touch screen display a simple matter. With the optional NiMH batteries, the PZG works without mains electricity power and is a real lightweight at only 7 kg. The PZG can also be used for lengthy assign-ments in the field, for which its internal memory capacity makes it espe-cially suitable: it can store more than 10,000 measurements.

The integrated thermal printer means that users can hand out measuring protocols on the spot. Once back in the office, the measuring files can be easily opened via Ethernet or USB interface and processed in a text editor (e. g. Word) or a spreadsheet calculation program such as Excel. The data reports fulfil numerous standards including ISO-14644-1, DIN 1946-4, GMP at rest, GMP in operation and CFM. Calibration takes place in accordance with DIN ISO 21501-4. The PZG does an excellent job not only as an independent measuring device, but also integrated into a permanent monitoring network.
