pco.edge – high fidelity ­scientific imaging with sCMOS

The new pco.edge camera offers complete high fidelity scientific imaging without compromise. Based on a true scientific CMOS (sCMOS) image sensor, the pco.edge delivers extremely low noise, fast frame rates, wide dynamic range, high quantum efficiency, high resolution and a large field of view – all in one image, at the same time.
The pco.edge camera features outstanding low read out noise of 1.4 electrons (eˉ) rms.

Even at maximum speed of 100 fps at full resolution of 2560 x 2160 pixels (6.5 μm pixels) the read out noise is less than 2 eˉ. This low read out noise combined with the fullwell capacity of 30,000 eˉ, achieves an intra scene dynamic range of better than 22.000:1, providing high dynamic 16 bit value images. The camera features +5 °C stabilized Peltier cooling, allowing for a continuous drift free operation.

With its uncompromising performance, the pco.edge is perfectly suited for a wide range of application areas including live cell microscopy, single molecule detection, super resolution microscopy, TIRF microscopy, spinning disk confocal microscopy, genome sequencing, FRET, FRAP, fluorescence spectroscopy, high content screening, flow cytometry, biochip reading.
