Universal coating thickness gauge for virtually all types of electroplated single or multi-layer coatings: GalvanoTest

Wherever thickness measurement of electroplated coatings is required, one gauge is in line with the trend for many years: the GalvanoTest coating thickness gauges from ElektroPhysik according to the coulometric principle.

With this destructive method of coating thickness measurement, only a small area of coating thickness material is removed; the substrate is not affected. Normally, the user accepts this point with view to the price performance ratio. The deplating area is almost invisible and has virtually no effect on the product features.

The well-established GalvanoTest can measure all galvanic coatings on virtually all substrates. Typical applications are nickel on steel, zinc on steel, tin on copper, silver on copper or copper on expoxy. The coulometric principle is the only low-cost method to measure the individual layers of multi-layer systems, for instance chrome plus nickel plus copper on steel one after the other. For measuring wires or small parts, an electrolyte cup is available.

Small replacement masks allow almost invisible deplating areas down to 0.25 mm2.
The measuring range is 0.05 to 75 µm.

The operation of GalvanoTest is simple and does not require specific skills. GalvanoTest offers a clearly arranged display and memories for the storage of various metals, calibrating settings, readings and statistical values.

The supply schedule is variable and includes generally a complete set consisting of GalvanoTest gauge, measuring stand with measuring cell, electrolytes and accessories so that gauge is ready for operation.

For documentation purposes, various data ports are available to connect GalvanoTest to peripheral units such as a PC, printer or Y-T recorder.
