Latest QuantumX module gives EtherCAT real-time data acquisition

HBM’s modular data measurement and acquisition system, QuantumX, has been expanded with the launch of the Gateway module CX27. The module makes it possible to connect several QuantumX models in real-time via EtherCAT to a superordinate automation system. Use of the fast, real-time bus system EtherCAT offers numerous advantages in measurement technology. In particular, data acquisition and control of test benches can be integrated in the test bench itself in order to ensure rapid and precise data synchronization.

The CX27 module enables rapid and simply connection of the powerful QuantumX system with cycle times under 1 ms. In addition high-quality measurement data can be rapidly and easily integrated with the Gateway module in automation routines and in parallel measurement and analysis processes.

Modern data acquisition systems, such as QuantumX, acquire the sensor data and transmit it both in real time via an EtherCAT network and via Ethernet TCP/IP with up to 96 kHz/channel to a measured data server for reliable and synchronous analysis.
The QuantumX measurement system is modular with very compact individual modules. The modules can be used to acquire various physical quantities such as force, torque, pressure, temperature, displacement, position, speed, current or voltage. All input channels in the modules are electrically isolated and can be individually configured. Digitalization is achieved with a high resolution of 24 Bit.
