Spatial Light Modulator

Hamamatsu Photonics introduced its new LCOS spatial light modulator, the X10468. It features a fill factor of > 95%, high diffraction efficiency and high precision phase modulation with excellent linearity providing industry leading performance. Compared to the previous generation of spatial light modulators, the instrument is compact and offers high-speed response, with a rise time of around 10 milliseconds. It can be used to perform optical wave front correction, aberration correction and laser beam shaping. There are numerous potential applications for this technology in microscopy, ophthalmology, astronomy, laser material processing, optical memories, laser marking, laser printing, optical tweezers, optical interconnects and many more.
