New, all-round hoses with food industry approval
NORRES, the Gelsenkirchen based hose manufacturer, has set yet another benchmark with its new, all-round hoses: the highly flexible NORFLEX® PUR 401 MHF and NORFLEX® PUR 441 MHF, made of the premium polyurethane Pre-PUR®, recently joined the already broad spectrum of hoses for food applications. Thanks to its fabric-reinforced wall, the NORFLEX® PUR 441 MHF now withstands higher working pressure.
The NORRES R&D department has devoted meticulous attention to the high hygienic requirements of the food industry regarding hose systems and fittings. The outcome: two discharge hoses that are ideally suited for the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries and can be described without hesitation as truly versatile performers. They can be used, for example, for compressed air or pneumatic applications, as insulating tubes, as profile, flat, moulded, twin or water cooling hoses and for round or hollow belts. They are made of high-quality Pre-PUR® polyurethane and are consequently up to five times more resistant to abrasion and tearing than rubber or PVC as well as gas and liquid-tight. These innovative all-rounders are designed to handle gaseous or liquid media in addition to solids such as dust or powder.
The NORFLEX® PUR 401 MHF has been approved by an independent testing laboratory for the complete hose from an inner diameter of 3.0 mm according to EU Directive 2002/72/EC, including the latest amending Directive 2007/19/EC. It is thus entitled to bear the EU's glass / fork symbol. A similar application has also been submitted for the NORFLEX® PUR 441 MHF and the approval is expected to be granted in the near future. Both hoses feature a food-quality wall in line with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and 178.2010, EU Directive 2002/72/EC, including the latest amending Directive 2007/19/EC, German guideline XXXIX BfR polyurethane.
It goes without saying that these ultra-rugged all-rounders are odourless and tasteless, softener and halogen-free and resistant to microbes and hydrolysis. NORFLEX® PUR 401 MHF and NORFLEX® PUR 441 exhibit good resistance to mineral oils, chemicals, UV and ozone. Owing to their very good flexibility at low temperatures, these crush-proof and pressure resistant hoses can also be used in cold environments (down to -40°C). They are extremely robust with a smooth interior and exterior, and they additionally boast very high tensile strength and tear resistance.
