Save Water and Costs without additional energy engagement

Technical measures to reduce water consumption are absolutely worthwhile. From the ecological point of view this was valid ever since, due to steady increasing energy prices these measures become also economical more and more attractive. In various applications enormous water and energy costs can be saved reliable, without additional auxiliary power, with flow limiters from Meister Strömungstechnik. On the background of the complex of climate problems the topic „energy-efficiency“ gains more and more importance. Applicable additional efficiency sources must be exhausted. The flow limiter from Meister Strömungstechnik is an efficient device to reduce costs remarkable.

The new flow limiters from Meister Strömungstechnik work purely mechanical and do not need any auxiliary power source and can also be employed there, where no power supply is available. The flow limiters can be used in numerous applications as there are water treatment, irrigation systems, cooling and car wash plants, swimming baths, hotels, hospitals, golf courses, campsites, plantations and vineyards.

The control function of the limiters is achieved through a combination of a flexible stainless steel star and a rigid stainless steel measuring cone. The functional principle is very simple:
With increasing pressure differential the star is pressed into the cone, thus reducing the effective cross-section, so that the flow is kept constant. Decreases the pressure differential to the original value, the star returns to its initial position.

The limiters ensure a steady flow and are available in sizes from 1/2“ up to 5“. Therefore the flow limiters are suitable for applications, where different consumption points are supplied from a single source. The flow limiters from Meister Strömungstechnik take care, that each section is reliable supplied with the required flow and at the same time no water is wasted.

The limiters have a long lifetime and can be used for 20 years and longer. All internal parts are machined from stainless steel and are therefore corrosion resistant.

Valve versus limiter
Contrary to fixed adjusted valves or orifice plates the flow limiter will keep, without auxiliary power, the volume flow in a pipe system constant, even with fluctuating pressure. With fixed adjusted valves the flow will change with pressure fluctuations considerably. Already with an increase of the pressure differential from 2 to 3 bar, the volume flow will increase by 22%. Increases the pressure differential to 8 bar the flow rate doubles (chart 1).

Meister flow limiters are available in numerous different models.
