Multi-functional control system for DC motors up to 240 W

The new multi-functional control system for DC motors from KALEJA Elektronik is a low-cost solution for users to electronically drive DC motors. Fast assembly is ensured due to the modular design which can be snapped onto the DIN rail as well as the plug-on connection terminals. An efficiency of max. 95 % is achieved based on the MOSFET technology. The motor speed can be controlled from 0 to maximum speed by means of a potentiometer or an analog input. In addition, change-over is possible between the set motor speed and 100 % motor speed at a digital input (+VCC).

The starting time (soft start) of the motors can be set from 0.1 s to 5 s using trimmer Tr.2 at the front of the control system. Trimmer Tr. 3 is used to set IxR compensation to the different motors, which means that – at varying load at the motor – IxR compensation tries to compensate the speed of the motor in order to achieve constant synchronism. Trimmer Tr.4 determines the maximum admissible motor current. As soon as the set over-current is reached, a LED lights up at the front of the control system and the output at terminal 16 is switched from 0 V to VCC. Selection between current switch-off and current limitation is possible at the digital input “I-change-over”. If the current is switched off, the motor is switched off as soon as the set over-current is reached; the motor is limited to the set current if current limitation is selected. Dynamic braking is switched on or off at terminal “Break-U”.

The design width of this compact motor control system is 45 mm only.
