With Haver “LIFFS”, HAVER & BOECKER and FEIGE FILLING set the benchmark in automatic filling of liquid and pastry products into plastic bags

HAVER & BOECKER and FEIGE FILLING, the leading manufacturers of filling machines for bulk material and liquid and pasty products respectively, have succeeded in developing a fully automatic machine for now filling pasty products into plastic bags as well.

“LIFFS”
“LIFFS” is a fully automatic filling machine enabling the filling of pasty products into PE plastic bags via Feige filling valve with an output of 600 bags/hour and more (25 kg each).
The combination of HAVER & BOECKER and Feige technologies leads to high-performance and high-speed filling of plastic bags, approved for verification.
The scale software controls the product flow and thus the degree of opening of the filling valve. The instantaneous weight is continuously measured during filling and subtracted from the target weight (product flow). A control algorithm uses these values to achieve the exact fill weight. When filling is completed, the remaining air in the bag is extracted before the bag is closed to keep chemical reactions between product and atmospheric air at a minimum.

Bag production and handling are now done by proven and tested HAVER FFS machines resulting in a smooth filling process.
Due to the integrated design, comprising all components from bag production to bag discharge in one unit, the “LIFFS” can be put into operation only involving a minimum of installation work. It is only the product feed and the return system and the power supply that have to be made available on site.

The “LIFFS” reveals remarkably new possibilities for this product range as filling in plastic bags is an attractive alternative to the commonly used packaging means in terms of economic and environmental aspects.
Up to now the building industry has used pails to bring their products (ready-mixed plaster, paints, adhesives, etc.) to the customer on site. Bags, however, are much smaller when the product is used up and can easier be disposed of.

Compared to an empty pail, another environmental benefit is the easier transport of the empty bag roll from the packaging material manufacturer to the building material manufacturer. And the roll of empty bags requires much less shipping volume. Furthermore, the production of a bag needs less raw material. This is an aspect both the filling company and the consumer will benefit from as the prices go down.
In short, the “LIFFS“ made by HAVER & BOECKER revolutionises the fully automatic filling of liquid and pasty products.
