New process displays for sensor signals

Sensor system supplier Micro-Epsilon has further extended its range of sensor accessories. To complement the company’s existing sensor accessories, five new process displays have been launched for the visualisation of different measurement signals.

All display models have a six-figure, seven-segment display. The process displays are suitable for digital or analogue displacement signals, velocity and rotary speed measurement or for draw-wire sensors.

The analogue display, DD241PC, has an analogue input and is typically used for distance monitoring or for position control. If two analogue signals have to be calculated together, the DD245PC display is provided. For applications such as thickness measurement or edge offset, where a new output signal must be calculated from two input signals, the DD245PC is ideal.

The process display DD214NE is used for digital sensors and, similar to its analogue counterpart, can calculate both signals and output as one signal.

With electric motors, rotational speeds and velocities often need to be measured. The DD202TA display is ideally suited to this application. With two inputs and an internal computational unit, many different processes can be controlled.

The DD214NA display is a special display used for position indication with draw-wire sensors. The customer can also connect an SSI absolute value encoder that facilitates the precise acquisition and display of the position of work pieces or mechanical limit stops for machine tools.

The DD214NE, DD202TA and DD245PC display models each have two programmable limits. This enables processes to be controlled or they can indicate when tolerance limits are reached or exceeded.

With these new display and computational units, the control and monitoring of different automated processes can be decentralised, offering improved reliability in the control of complex sequences. As well as sensors and measurement instruments, Micro-Epsilon also offers a number of economical process displays, which depending on the model, can be integrated into a wide variety of applications.
