CAN-Bus contactless transmission

The INPUD-CAN 120 (Inductive Power and Data Transmission) is a highly integrated module for non-contact transmission of electric energy to supply sensors and actuators and other electric loads on rotating shafts, axles, palettes or attachments. The CAN-Bus information is also transmitted bidirectionally via the air gap between a stationary and remote unit.

In doing so INPUD-CAN120 operates as a CAN-Repeater independent of the rotational speed, the transmission happens reliable even under severe environmental conditions (dust, oil, water).

The standard version consists of two cylindrical housings whereas the front faces are located opposite each other. If the center line is used for transmitting force, a medium like air or hydraulic oil, the INPUD transmission unit can be equipped with a center hole. This so-called ring to ring housing, is optionally available. Since it works without parts that touch each other mechanically, the INPUD-CAN120 does not require any maintenance works.

Because of the CAN Bus compatibility the unit is primarily used in vehicles, mechanical engineering, packaging machine and for robotics.
A very good match is the use of INPUD as a contactless connector if an attachment is always to be changed and needs power and data for operation. This automatic coupling safes a huge amount of time in comparison to a cable connection, which has to be done manually.
