Highly precise path correction for robot guidance

With its new product VMT BK, VMT Bildverarbeitungssysteme GmbH in Weinheim offers a complete system for robot path correction for applications in the area of seam sealing, edge processing and welding.

Offline path correction
Many processing tasks demand a robot path individually adapted to the work piece.
Not only the position of the work piece, but every single processing point on the work piece must be measured and the robot path appropriately corrected.

The VMT BK system measures the geometry and the position of the seam / joint / edge with an accuracy of 0.1 mm or better and corrects each individual interpolation point on the robot path.
The robot can then perform its processing task with high accuracy.

User benefits:
  • Full decoupling of measurement and processing
  • Highest possible local processing accuracy
  • Uniformly high manufacturing quality, even with form tolerances
  • Lowest consumption of material on seam sealing
  • Simple protocol for communication with all current industrial robots
  • Control of a number of robots with one system computer
  • Seamless reporting of all system activities
  • Quality control of the local edge geometry can be carried out simultaneously
  • System is compatible with VMT IS 3D position detection
  • Amortization possible after a few months
VMT Bildverarbeitungssysteme GmbH presents further new methods as well as innovative solutions for the positional control of robots, laser-supported jointing and also 3D position determination using a camera.

VMT is represented worldwide. The quality management to ISO 9001:2000 has recently been audited and re-approved by the TÜV.

By arrangement, the function of the systems can be inspected in the training center at the Weinheim headquarters at anytime and various test installations can be demonstrated.
