CCD laser sensors are becoming even faster

The optoNCDT 2200 laser triangulation sensor, Micro-Epsilon’s fastest in the series to date, will be expanded by a version that is many times faster. Thanks to a new CCD array, the new optoNCDT 2200 sensor series now delivers a genuine 20kHz faster measuring rate over the complete measurement range of each model. Therefore, the series is suitable for measuring extremely fast movement with maximum precision.

The resolution of 0.0015% of the measuring range is consistently achieved for all models in the range without using an averaging filter. Therefore the optoNCDT achieves a resolution of 0.03µm for 2mm of measuring area and does this for each measurement pulse. The range comprises seven sensor models with various measuring ranges between 2mm and 200mm.

Each model uses Micro-Epsilon’s unique “Real-Time Surface Compensation (RTSC)” technique corrects the variable reflection characteristics in the same measuring cycle. This means the sensors can be used to deliver extremely precise measurement results, regardless of the type of target surface.

Due to the new CCD array, the sensor is extremely compatible with light from other sources and still provides very precise measurement results at 30,000 lx.
Typical applications are measurement of vibrating parts or measuring surfaces with rapidly changing reflection characteristics.
