The new Optris CT laser with double laser aiming brings the challenges under control

Optris GmbH is expanding the product range of infrared thermometers. The new optris CT laser high performance series for the temperature range of -40°C to 975°C. It’s predestinated for non-contact temperature measurements in industrial applications where “size of spot matters”.

The CT laser combines the accuracy of a 75:1 infrared optics with small spots sizes, the low temperature measurement and exact aiming. And all of this within an affordable price Optris is famous for.

It allows low and high temperature measurements of smallest spots up from 0,9mm without the need of mechanical choppers. The double laser aiming marks real spot location and spot size at any distance. The optics 75:1 with selectable focus at distances from 70mm to 1260mm is generating unbeatable small spots at low temperatures of 0,9mm at 70mm or for instance 1,9mm at 150mm distance.

The measuring of small spots is much easier at higher temperatures. A wide variety of infrared thermometers is available on the market. The low energy measurement at lower temperatures needs normally: choppering of signals, big size of detectors and longer response times. The new detectors, developed at Optris, bring these challenges under control.

The optris CT laser F (fast) is dedicated for scanning of fast moving objects at low temperatures up from 9ms exposure time.

The CT laser is usable up to 85°C ambient temperature without cooling and automatic laser switch off at 50°C. It features selectable analogue outputs 0/4-20mA, 0-5/10V, thermocouple type K or J.

Nowadays Optris offers for all CT series infrared thermometers an integrated Profibus DP interface (optional) or other plug in digital interfaces (optional) like USB, RS232, RS485 or CAN.

The technology company Optris GmbH is specialized in the development, production and sales of non-contact infrared thermometers. The product range comprises online sensors as well as portable infrared cameras and pyrometers which are predominantly used for maintenance and process control.
