Small + omnidirectional = ideal: a compact scan-ner for 1D and 2D codes

With the ICR803 – the latest product in the ICR series based on camera technology – SICK is presenting an omnidirectional code reader in a particularly compact housing. The device is predestined for applications in which objects must be identified in any alignment but there is only limited mounting space for the reading device.

Whether a bar code, a 2D code, OCR plain writing or pure image capture – the ICR803 can detect and evaluate the most varied of labels omnidirectionally, i.e. in any orienta-tion. LED illumination, the latest imaging technology and a choice of USB or RS-232 interface – everything that the device needs for reading is already integrated in the housing of just 49 x 40 x 25 mm_. No external decoder, illumination or interface adapter is required. The ICR803 is extremely reliable in operation, because the code reader – designed for stationary use – contains no moving parts that can fail, become misaligned or age. This makes the ICR803 the ideal identification solution for, among others, ana-lysers and small automatic systems, or handling and robot systems.
