bio-m® Magnetic Agitators

Besides our top mounted magnetic agitators type AMR, zeta has a vast range of bottom mounted magnetic agitators type BMR to offer. Since many years, they are in use especially in the pharmaceutical industry as well as in the biotechnology.

The containment shell becomes part of the vessel bottom and hermetically separates the vessel interior from the surrounding atmosphere. Vessel volumes of up to 40 m_ can be mixed.

An important feature of the bottom mounted agitators is the bio-m® impeller. Its very open design results in perfect cleanability (CIP) as well as sterilisation (SIP). The special design of the impeller blades has been examined by CFD. The shape of the blades offers the advantage of a floating bearing system, which reduces wear and improves cleanability. Another design feature is the big circular gap between containment shell and magnetic rotor, an important precondition for perfect cleanability as well as for a reduced shear load of the product.
