Video-analysis protects sensitive areas

Particularly in critical surroundings video surveillance has already become part of every day life. But it is not the technology that provides safety and protection. It is the human behind the screen, interpreting the events and trying to react directed and quickly. However, studies prove that already after a couple of minutes, humans no longer perceive the events shown on screens. Vis-à-pix supports the security staff with its intelligent video-analysis software which evaluates video streams with regard to highly complex criteria. The Vis-à-pix company was founded as a spin-off of the Fraunhofer-Institute for Telecommunications in 2004.

Intelligent Access Control

The Intrusion Detector generates alarm when a restricted security- or service-area is entered by humans or vehicles. It also considers the direction of movement, duration of stay and the speed the intruding object has. On this basis, the system not only detects an unauthorized access to a restricted area, but also differentiates between permitted and non-permitted behaviour. If, for example, visitors in museums come too close to a piece of art, the Intrusion Detector raises alarm. Whereas up until now the security staff had to track and evaluate the events on several screens simultaneously, the Intrusion Detector automatically raises alarm on the particular screen where the access violation has occurred. This enables the security staff member to interpret and react to the situation that has been high-lightened by the software. With this sensitive areas can be protected with little technological effort and at low cost.

Reliable even under most difficult conditions

The software reliably generates alarm even when the environmental conditions are difficult and differentiates between security-relevant and –irrelevant objects.
No matter if there are trees moving with the wind or animals moving through the picture, rapid changes in light or variable weather conditions – the reliability of the detection is not affected.

Vis-à-pix Intrusion Detector is part of the product line Vis-à-pix IQ 100. The product line combines complementing solutions for intelligent video content analysis. Its modular design allows the software product line to flexibly adapt to any task. The existing Vis-à-pix solution can anytime be expanded by other modules in case the tasks grow. This makes the Vis-à-pix IQ 100 product line a perfect long term solution for any field of application.
