Thermo Electron unveiled the Espresso personal microcentrifuge, the newest member of Thermo’s centrifuge portfolio. Every
aspect of the Espresso microcentrifuge has been designed for simplicity and ease of use: from its easy-to-read display to its convenient and highly accurate controls. The Espresso microcentrifuge design features a small footprint and very quiet operation to expedite and improve the microcentrifugation process. Its 12-place rotor makes loading and unloading of 250 µl to 2.0 ml samples simple and straightforward. The highly durable non-corrosive plastic rotor enables the use of filter-based preps and is simple to remove, allowing the rotor to be fully autoclaved and cleaned using strong disinfectants. This not only makes the Espresso microcentrifuge ideal for general bench use, but also for more specific applications such as sensitive nucleic acid, protein and cell preparations.
