The simple operating concept is supported by a multicolored LC display with background lighting. Operation, parameter setting and configuration can all be performed by using just four keys on the front panel, or with the help of the convenient setup program.
Even the basic version has the controllers structured in such a way as to cover the most important functions that are relevant to the plastics industry.
Accordingly, the controllers feature as standard:
- hot-channel start-up circuit
- heater current measurement and monitoring
- leakage current monitoring
- boost function
- setpoint reduction through binary input / key
- control loop monitoring
- output level monitoring
- autotuning (oscillatory method and step response)
All controllers are freely configurable as 2-state, 3-state, modulating or continuous controllers. In addition, they can be programmed as program controllers/generators with up to eight program segments.
A math and logic function as well as an RS422/485 MODbus interface that is configurable as the master are optionally available. A PROFIBUS-DP interface and a 0 – 20 mA current interface can also be provided.
The membrane keypad on the front panel in conjunction with IP65 enclosure protection ensures reliable operation even in very hostile environments.
Two power supply options are available: 110 – 240V AC, 48 – 63Hz or 20 – 53V AC/DC, 48 – 63Hz. Screw terminals are provided for the electrical connection.
UL and CUL approvals have been applied for.
Applications include: injection molding, hot-channel technology, extrusion, film manufacture, packaging.
The instruments are manufactured in compliance with RoHS*, which means that the requirements with regard to the use and restriction of hazardous substances were already taken into account during development, thus meeting 2002/95/EC.
