SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2008
SPS/IPC/DRIVES is the exhibition for electric automation technology. It covers all components down to the system and offers herewith integrated automation solutions. Exhibitors and visitors profit from the advantage that visiting numerous exhibitions on components becomes superfluous.
The exhibitors - manufacturers of electric automation technology - present products and services from the following sectors:
- Control Technology
- IPCs
- Drive Systems and Components
- Human-Machine-Interface Devices
- Industrial Communication
- Industrial Software
- Interface Technology
- Electromechanical Components and Peripheral Equipment
- Sensor Technology
Main Topics of SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2008
As topics, which are constantly important for the industry, „Ethernet in Automation“, „Safety and Security in Automation“ and „Motion Control“ have been named main topics of SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2008.
„Web in Automation“
The topic „Web in Automation“ deals with the use of web-based technologies in electric automation. It will be in the focus of SPS/IPC/DRIVES exhibition and conference for the first time as an initiative by ZVEI’s (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association) product division “Automation”.
Joint Stands at SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2008
“wireless in automation”
At the joint stand “wireless in automation”, companies show the entire spectrum of possible system solutions for wireless communication. In one place, a clustered supply of products and services is at disposal for those who are interested in this subject. An important source of information about “wireless in automation” is the Speakers' Corner under the chairmanship of Prof. Joerg F. Wollert, FH Bochum. During the three exhibition days, interesting and exciting lectures will take place picking up the topic “Wireless in Automation”.
“Open Source meets Industry”
During the last seven years, the joint stand “Linux in Automation” was carried out at SPS/IPC/DRIVES. As from now, the successful special show obtains the name “Open Source meets Industry”. To that effect, current developments concerning the open source software are already taken up in the name of the joint stand. The Open Source Automation Development Lab – OSADL eG – participates in the joint stand with its member companies.
All these topics will be explained in speeches and discussion at the forums within the exhibition. Furthermore they will be presented at the exhibition stands as they are of high importance for the whole electric automation industry.
SPS/IPC/DRIVES is taking place from 25 – 27 November 2008 in Nuremberg.
